Dissertation Prize 2019 for Dr.-Ing. Marcus Wenzel
For his doctoral thesis on the production of synthesis gas from carbon dioxide, Dr.-Ing. Marcus Wenzel received the faculty award for the best doctoral student of the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering of the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg for the period 2018 - 2019. Doctoral supervisor is CDS spokesman Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Sundmacher.
Master prize for biosystems engineer Sophie Pabel (AG Prof. Marwan)
In the working group of CDS member Prof. Wolfgang Marwan, Chair of Regulatory Biology at the Institute of Biology, Master's graduate Sophie Pabel was awarded the Master's prize for outstanding final thesis in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology (GBM).

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andreas Seidel-Morgenstern, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems Magdeburg, is President of the International Adsorption Society (IAS) from July 2019 to June 2022.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Sundmacher, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems Magdeburg and Head of the Department of Process Engineering, was appointed Fellow of the Max Planck School Matter to Life by the President of the Max Planck Society.
CDS summer party: General meeting 2019 in the Mark Fortress
The members of the CDS and their working groups celebrated this year's summer festival on 26 June in the historic Mark Fortress. The CDS members and the President of the OvGU, Prof. Strackeljan, enjoyed lively discussions with a cool drink at the grill buffet.
Engineers revolutionise molecular microscopes
CDS member Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rolf Findeisen, together with engineers from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and in cooperation with colleagues from Forschungszentrum Jülich, has developed a method for measuring the electrical potentials of molecules and molecular surfaces with previously unattained precision and speed.
