CDS Progress Meeting "Dynamic Transportation Optimization"
On July 1, 2025, CDS member Prof. Dr. Marlin Ulmer invited to the CDS Progress Meeting in Building 22A at the Chair of Business Administration, especially Management Science, of the Faculty of Business and Economics.
Prof. Dr. Marlin Ulmer opened the event on the topic of "Dynamic Transportation Optimization" with an introduction of his team and the Chair of Business Administration, especially Management Science.
M.Sc. Florentin Hildebrandt , who recently was distinguished with Prof. Dr. Marlin Ulmer and co-authors A. Strauss and Ž. Lesjak by the publishing of a paper in the journal "Management Science" (VHB rating "A+"), is a research associate at the chair. In his presentation "Reinforcement Learning for Fleet & Demand Control in Restaurant Meal Delivery," he presented how the positioning of restaurants in delivery apps influences customer decisions and how these insights can be used to optimize delivery processes and fleet management.
The day's presentations encouraged questions and discussions, which continued afterward over coffee and pastries. The CDS Progress Meeting series will continue in the 2025/2026 winter semester.
