SmartProSys Symposium
The third SmartProSys Symposium took place at the Festung Mark from September 29th to October 1st, 2025. Over 120 participants, including researchers, industry partners, and interdisciplinary experts, gathered to exchange ideas on sustainable chemical production and circular carbon strategies.
Within the framework of the topic "Smart Process Systems for a Green Carbon-based Chemical Production in a Sustainable Society," the event offered a rich program on various scientific and technological levels: process level, molecular level, system level, computer systems, and algorithms. Scientific talks, poster sessions, and informal networking breaks fostered in-depth discussions and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Peter Hinrichs, Representative of the Ministry of Science of Saxony-Anhalt, and Prof. Jens Strackeljan, Rector of the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, gave the opening speeches of the SmartProSys Symposium.
The symposium once again emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary, systems-oriented research for the realization of a circular and sustainable carbon economy. Many of the presented projects offer great potential for future collaboration.
